We went to the zoo on Monday, mid-heat wave, and lasted a good hour or more. Nana, Mama, Mahmoo, and (maybe) Sasha were all very proud of ourselves for venturing out of the air conditioning. That's the car dashboard on our return trip home.
Sasha's faves included the fake-downed-tree tunnel to crawl through, the bubbles to climb up inside the prairie dog display, and feeding the goats. Mostly, the physical structure of the zoo was way more fun than the creatures living there.
You have my admiration for venturing out in that kind of heat! Especially in NY where there aren't many trees or grass to absorb the heat. It just bounces off all the building and asphalt roads. Yikers!
